Facing Forward

Strength, resilience and hope for future generations - Facing Forward is a holistic wellbeing programme for the children of Holocaust survivors and refugees, and descendants.

What we do

The programme recognises the unique intergenerational impact of trauma and offers a safe, supportive space for people to explore identity, acknowledge emotions, build connection and feel part of a community with shared experience.

Facing Forward provides support, empowerment and community through:

  • Peer-led interest groups Opportunities to connect with others through shared interests and lived family history.
  • Wellbeing activities Gentle, supportive activities designed to promote emotional wellbeing and connection.
  • One-to-one support Individual support to help people feel heard, understood and connected to appropriate services.

Facing Forward is for descendants of Holocaust survivors and refugees, who would like to connect with others, explore identity and strengthen their wellbeing in a safe and welcoming environment.

Our approach

Facing Forward is not a psycho-therapeutic service. Where someone may need specialist therapeutic support, we will help them access an appropriate referral.

The programme aims to create a nurturing and empowering environment that supports understanding, personal growth and community connection.

Looking back. Facing forward. – the common connection for descendants is a shared history. Facing Forward encourages participants to move forward with strength, resilience and hope.
