Social Services

AJR’s Social Services department is dedicated to offering support and guidance to our members on a wide range of social welfare and care issues, and we have specialist knowledge of the emotional issues affecting victims of Nazi persecution and their dependents, refugees, and their dependants—including spouses and second-generation members—across the UK.

We serve the needs of Holocaust survivors, refugees and their dependents, including spouses and second-generation members, across the whole of the UK.

Following a holistic assessment of needs, we provide our clients on-going support to live with dignity in their own homes for as long as possible.

This may include:

  • Accessing Claims Conference funding for homecare and for health and welfare grants;
  • Ensuing clients receive their full benefit and pension entitlement;
  • Supporting socially isolated members to access local activities and services;
  • Signposting to other relevant organisations.

AJR’s Social Services department prides itself on its ability to offer a warm, friendly and supportive service to all our members. To speak in confidence to a social worker please call us on 020 8385 3070.

“Thank you for visiting us yesterday. We thought the meeting went brilliantly. We are so lucky to have a social worker as gentle, understanding and caring as you. We really appreciate all the support and advice you give us.”

Holocaust Survivor, AJR Member

The generation that survived Nazi persecution
should never face hardship in later life.

If you or a loved one came to the UK as a victim of Nazi persecution, support may be available now. Contact the AJR to ensure no Holocaust refugee or survivor is left without the help they deserve.
