Ruth Schwiening

Interview Summary

Ruth arrived in England on the Kindertransport at the age of three, while her father was imprisoned in Dachau and her mother was left to desperately find a way out for the rest of the family. Ruth reflects on not only her experiences but that of her parents whose determination enabled the family to eventually come back together. Her commitment to helping others and seeking out the past ignited an artistic talent that has enabled her to explore and share it with future generations.
